With triosence we have been busy during the summer, being on the road, rehearsing and trying new songs at our concerts and finally recording the upcoming CD at Schloss Elmau. The picture on the left is the view from my room during the recording session. Could have been worse :-)
Recording a CD is always an adventure and Bernhard, triosence’s bandleader, always puts a lot of effort into trying out different things, rehearsing and playing the new tunes many times before the actual recording.
We played concerts in France at Oloron Jazz Festival, where we played a double bill with Ron Carter, a great open air show in Marbella, Spain and a couple of shows in Germany including a great concert at the Kulturzelt Festival in Kassel, my former hometown. We are happy that the audience receives the new songs as well as the old ones.
Finally at the Ende of August we went to Elmau, a five star Hotel that features live music on a regular basis.
Before playing a concert there on August 30th we spent two and a half days recording with one of my favorite engineers Rolf Dressler and the two triosence bassplayers that are featured on this CD: Matthias Nowak and Omar Rodriguez Calvo (I am very lucky to be playing with such great bassplayers!)
Now we are listening to and selecting the final tracks and I am already very happy with the sound of the roughmixes.
Upcoming are a couple of more shows with triosence: e.g. Sept. 24th Bondorf where I am looking forward to Peter Falke as live engineer and October 22nd a sold out double bill evening with Till Brönner’s group in Brilon.
