I have been working hard the last couple of weeks… well, okay, laying on the beach was part of it, too. But still, it was a tough job and somebody had to do it :-)

We have been to Spain and Italy with triosence and Gregor Meyle, playing wonderful concerts, I did some recordings in my studio and taught at the Jazz & Rock Workshop Salzgitter as well as the 4th Creativ Drum Camp in Heek. In this post you will also read a little bit about what’s coming up next like shows with Christina Lux, Fresh Music Live and Gregor Meyle.

After going through the final examns at music college Hannover and the auditions for the Musikhochschule Osnabrück, triosence went for a trip to Spain. We were invited to play at San Javier Jazz Festival and Buchinger Marbella. On the way back we played a club-concert in Madrid, too.
The trip was great, especially because Bernhard and I were going by car. We wanted to exploere the countryside of Spain and, boy, we did :-) It was a long trip, but the concerts and the hang were great.

This trip marked the final leg of our „turning points“ tour with almost 100 concerts in 2 years and started the preparation for the upcoming release and tour of „One Summer Night“ which will be out through Mons Records in October this year. October 19th we play the CD release show at the Wabe in Berlin.

Teaching in Salzgitter is always fun and I really enjoyed working at the 30th Jazz & Rock Workshop alongside Hilko, Lars, Rolf, Dirk and the others. Together with Melanie Germain we coached a band playing the music of Sting and The Police which was great fun. It’s amazing what the kids learn in such a short amount of time.I also enjoyed playing at the teachers concert… here are some pictures from the Jazz & Rock Workshop.

Right after that we went to play a couple of shows with Gregor Meyle in Lübeck, Leverkusen, Backnang, Mainz and Marburg. It was great to perform with these great musicians and to see amazing venues, like the Hofgut in Dagobertshausen. It’s a must-go.

In between these gigs Gregor, Andreas and I were invited to play at a private party in Italy including a couple of days off at the beautiful toscany beach.

At the end of August I had the honor of teaching alongside Dom Famularo and Claus Hessler at the creativ drum camp in Heek. It was my 4th time to teach at this camp and it’s wonderful and inspiring to see how different, but great all of these camps have been. Here are a couple of impressions from the camp.

Upcoming are concerts with Christina Lux and Andreas Hillesheim, a show with Fresh Music Live which features singers from the last three „The Voice of Germany“ seasons and more concerts with Gregor.

And I am also looking forward to meeting my new students in Hannover and Osnabrück.
