Happy New Year 2012
Happy new year to all of you. May it present to you luck, health, happiness, success and everything you wish for… Here is a little summary of what happened during the last 2 months and what is going to come up next.
This article includes some information about my work with triosence, Omid Bahadori, Ritmo Del Mundo, a couple of new releases and about what is coming up in 2012.
First of all a big thank you for voting for triosence in the american song-competition „The Next Holiday Classic“. We finished first and I am excited about what is going to come afterwards. Our CD „Where Time Stands Still“ with Sara Gazarek on vocals is going to be released in the US-market on January 24th and the picture you see on the left is the cover-art for the american version. You can order or download it right here.
We are currently rehearsing new material for our next CD, which will be trio only and recorded at Rainbow Studios Oslo. We will be playing a couple of concerts to warm up for the studio session:
10. Feb. 2012 – Bad Kissingen
11. Feb. 2012 – Bad Neustadt
24. Feb. 2012 – Bad Wildungen
04. Mar. 2012 – Überlingen
09. Mar. 2012 – Hamm (Sieg)
10. Mar. 2012 – Schöppingen
31. Mar. 2012 – Köln
I hope you can make it to one of the concerts and preview our new set of songs. We haven’t decided yet which of the 19! songs to put on the CD, so maybe your voice in the audience could help us…
In the last news-section I told you about the Sonor rhythm-add-on and in the meantime I recorded a video for Sonor-Drumtube-Channel to show some possibilities how to use such percussion-instruments on the kit.
Omid Bahadori, iranian singer and songwriter living in Hannover just released his CD „Orientation“ and I am happy to have played on it, too. Omid is a hard working musician and so we already have plans for the next recording session in February.
I will also be recording for Jochen Ross from Hamburg in my studio in Hannover and together with Tom Bennecke, guitar-player of the Jazzkantine, triosence’s bass-player Ingo Senst and Catrin Groth.
In November I played a showcase for the welsh singer Debbie Clarke and will be working with her in the future. I am really happy to be part of the great band formed by M.D. Ingo Hassenstein and am looking fwd. to what is coming up with that group.
Together with Nené Vásquez I was working on a new song and we recorded a little video for youtube. It will be available soon, so please stay tuned!
I was busy teaching in Hannover and Osnabrück and am currently preparing the examns for my students which is (I must admit it) fun. I am happy with the development of the students and hope they have good learning experience in the schools. It is always hard to put something so special and delicate into a school-situation, but I hope that the idea of music itself stays in the focus of my lessons, at least that’s my goal (and one of my pledges for the new year.)
Thanks again for visiting my website and I would be happy if you leave a quick note in my guestbook.
Again have a great start into 2012.
Bye, Stephan
