…early 2014 news…
I hope you had a great start into 2014. Last year was an exciting year and I really enjoyed how this year started, too. Please read some news about the “Voice of Germany” tour, triosence, Edgar Knecht and couple of other nice projects I am currently involved in. The picture on the left is from our show at Olympiahalle Munich.
The Voice of Germany – Live on Tour
The tour went really well and I was happy to meet great musicians and be part of this huge production including so many geniuses in their working areas… light, sound, management, catering, etc.
I really enjoyed working with everybody involved and was glad that the band made me feel very welcome right from the start…
Here are a couple of impressions from the tour.
With my dear friend and groove-creator Patrick Fa…
If you missed it, here is a chance to see some of the talents again on stage: I will be playing with Nico Gomez in Euskirchen on Feb. 14th. Peer Richter, Emily Intsiful and Debbie Schippers will be part of the show, too.
With triosence we finished a really succesful year with shows in Erfurt and Delmenhorst and spent the rest of December mixing our live CD “One Summer Night” which will be released by Sony Music towards the end of this year. Here are some impressions from the concerts:
We played a nice show in Puchheim at the end of last year and I met my buddy Norbert Siegl who helped us out with some equipment for the show. He runs a great school and is a really nice guy.
I was really happy that Nené Vásquez could sub for me at one of Edgar’s shows in January while I was on tour with The Voice. At the end of January we played at the Kulturbörse Freiburg where we had the chance to perform in front of bookers and agents from all over the german speaking countries.
Again it was fun to play with Tobias Schulte again and I was happy to see some other great acts like the a cappella group Juicebox from Hannover. Please check them out!
With Gregor we played a couple of shows towards the end of 2013 in Kassel, Brilon and Berlin. It was awesome to perform with him and a great bunch of musicians like Dominik Krämer, Rainer Scheithauer, Chris Herzberger or Markus Segschneider, with whom I will be recording next week. This was my setup with Gregor:

… and these wonderful things happened, too…
I was involved in teaching at Popakademie Mannheim, IFM Osnabrück and the Music College Hannover and am really touched by how much talent there is out there. Especially my “James Blake”-ensemble in Osnabrück made me very proud with their performance at the end of the semester.
I also had the honour to to coach some young talents at a performace-workshop by the Music Artist Academy Hannover and played a studio session for brazilian singer Marcia Bittencourt and Hervé Jeanne at the wonderful D Room studios in Gehrden. Here are some pics from that session:
It was also a great pleasure to perform with Fresh Music Live in Hannover and be part of a great line-up a.o. with Moritz Müller, Lukas Berg, Ramona Nerra, Andreas Hillesheim. Here is a little picture from the rehearsal:
I would like to end this post by thanking Zildjian Cymbals and Thomas Franke for their great support and an inspiring day at the Zildjian distributor in the Netherlands. I’ve got cool new sounds now and they are already in use for the coming events.
Hugs from Hannover,
